Jane Langley is a native of Northshore Boston. As a self-taught artist, she has gained her knowledge through personal study, mentoring and workshops. Her style can be defined as contemporary realism. One of her best-loved artists is Norman Rockwell and Jane strives to emulate his realism in some of her own works, whether it be in landscapes, portraits or still life.
Jane's inspiration for oil painting started in 2001 and her education has been a journey of self-discovery and realization. Teachers that have influenced her most are Numael and Shirley Pulido of Peterborough NH and Gloria Perkins of Sharpsburg GA. Working for a Vineyard re-kindled her passion to paint and gave her purpose in her artistic pursuits. Jane reflected on her personal core values and aligned them with her artistic goals. She is now acting on her intuition, believing in herself to create.
My art is influenced by what I experience, what I see and what I read. I have learned to be true to myself. I am methodical, logical, and precise in my execution. I am motivated by creating art that is meaningful to my audience.
